Since hunger is a systematic problem, different perspectives and multiple voices need to be heard. This digital platform can be used as a research space for understanding and unpacking the many layers that compose the global food system. The research draws from a variety of input edited in six episodes with a collage-audio format: interviews, advertisements, pop culture videos, songs, and sound effects. Listeners can follow the research question from the first episode "What is hunger?" until the last episode called "It is all about money".
The Food Cosmos is a research project developed at the Design Academy Eindhoven by four designers with different backgrounds: Anna Perugini, John Carrillo, Louisa Wolf and Pedro Lobo. As privileged human beings, we have never experienced hunger, though we hope that this platform enables the audience with new perspectives for reflecting upon the complexities around hunger.
